What sells on eBay? Virtually everything. Many eBay sellers think the only way to make money on eBay is to buy hundreds of hot selling items and put up dozens of auctions. Problem is hundreds, if not thousands, of other folks are already selling wholesale merchandise on eBay. These areas are dangerous to new sellers, because there are lots of companies with enough money to import these items directly–by the thousands no less–and undercut anyone who buys through wholesale distributors.
What you sell on eBay should be something youre familiar with. Most folks out there collect something, whether its Santa Claus cookie jars, or curling stones. If you have a certain expertise in a collectible, then, combined with a little research, you have the ability to find the products at prices you can resell. In the process, you will have carved out your own niche in this particular market.
What Sells on Ebay: Old and New
Did you know that there is a huge market on eBay for vintage hi-fi equipment, cameras, old computers and computer hardware? Thats right, if you have an old Apple computer or Nikon F-Body camera from the early 1970s, theres a good chance someone will scoop it up. Many eBay sellers purchase these items cheaply at a garage sale, then resell them for a good profit on eBay.
There is also a list of hot selling new items on the eBay market; these include everything from diet pills and heirloom jewelry, to perfume and bibles. These are not a recommendation of what to sell on eBay if youre starting out. Remember, what sells on eBay is you. Be unique, specialize and find a niche market–you will be better off in the long run.
